I am Elizabeth Newton, a Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist. Originally from the North of England and after living and working in London for 12 years, I have now made Essex my home where I practice Solution Focused Hypnotherapy across the county. I am privileged to be able to help people from all walks of life in a compassionate, discreet and non-judgemental way, using Hypnosis as a catalyst for positive change.
“I love to wake in the morning, feeling fresh and ready for the day ahead, knowing that today I will be working to help somebody make a positive change to their own life. Or better still, actually change their life”.
Career & Qualifications
I have an Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of Durham, a Masters Degree in Occupational Psychology from the University of Nottingham and the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy which is a high-level qualification only held by approximately 20% of UK Hypnotherapists. I trained at The Clifton Practice, a recognized Centre of Excellence for Hypnotherapy which works in partnership with Bristol University, researching Hypnotherapy as a discipline and as a therapeutic tool.
In my earlier career, I worked within Human Resources for blue chip organisations and investment banks in central London.
I am a member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapists (AfSFH), an Accredited member of The National Board for Modern Psychotherapy (NBfMP) and am fully registered and insured to work with both adults and children
Research & Development
Unlike most Therapists, I monitor the progress of my client treatment programmes to ensure I continue to provide the best possible interventions and success. In addition, I regularly attend development courses to ensure my skills and knowledge remain up to date with advances in Neuroscience and Psychology. Finally, I am pleased to be able to contribute to the ongoing development of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy as a profession by being a member of the national Clinical Outcomes Research Programme.
